How much rust is on the cars?

The cars are coming from Ontario, Canada. There is a wide-range of rust, from very little to a lot. Our policy is to not to buy structural rust. Our model is to filter out any vehicle that has a moderate to high rust composition. If the vehicle has minimal surface rust to the frame, we power wire brush that off the frame. Our buying model is scan for body rust and remove from any members Pre-Buy initial selection. All vehicles are inspected for rust, and power wire brushed off. We undercoat all vehicles with a premium black poly-rubberized undercoating that is for protection against corrosion and abrasion.

Are Canadian cars financeable in the U.S.?

Yes. They are U.S titled vehicles from the state of Indiana. Our Registered Importer partner is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a result, we produce an Indiana state title.

How can I arbitrate a vehicle purchased at a Canadian auction?

We conduct a very comprehensive Pre-Drive and Post-Drive inspection report through our Seymour technology. We use a fully insured and bonded drive service to conduct a Pre-Drive inspection and report that empowers the driver to take pictures inside and outside of the car. The driver runs through a series of checklists on the vehicle prior to the drive. The driver then will test drive your vehicle for over a 50 mile (near 75 miles) test drive at street and highway speeds. The system has conditioned logic. For example, if the vehicle has a check engine light comes on, the driver is told to stop the car and have it towed back to the auction or simply to return to the auction. After the over 50-mile test drive to the odometer conversion shop. The driver completes his post-drive checklist. All of this is systematized and capture at a VIN level. As a member, you will have access to Seymour through your dealer dashboard. The Seymour Dealer dashboard will give you a full overview of your purchase portfolio, and details at VIN level.

What if I do not know how to buy cars at the Canadian auctions?

No worries, that is our job. Our buyers will find and buy the cars for you.

Can I just buy cars at the Canadian auctions myself?

In theory, you can. However, there are a lot of specialized skill and technology that you have to have to know what is eligible to be imported and what is not at a VIN level. You will have to have an odometer shop that would be willing to work with you and will dedicate space in their holding yard for you. You will have to have transportation north and south of the border that will commit trucks and resources to you. You will have to have a Registered Importer south of the border that will take you on as a client and dedicate space to you in their NHTSA approved holding yard. The list goes on and on. Take advantage of our relationships, economies of scale, holding yard and expertise that will mitigate the risk of buying cars that are not eligible for import or get hung up in the import process. Don’t sweat it, we got it. Become a member. Problem solved.

How do you import cars legally?

What is the benefit of buying Canadian cars?

3 words. Currency Exchange Margin. I encourage you to look up the historical currency exchange margin. It’s not as volatile as you think. On average, it’s 75% of the USD. Buying cars in Canada gives you an economic advantage that you can’t replicate in your U.S. domestic purchases. For every $7,500 USD, you can buy $10,000 of Canadian purchasing power. Do the math. $2,500 of currency exchange margin for every $10,000. On a $30,000 ACV car, you have on average $7,500 of currency exchange margin. Additionally, $30,000 of USD buys you $37,500 of car in Canada. Increased value. The currency exchange can cover most, if not all your import and program fees. Depending on your ACV range, there can be profit in the buys as well. ACV stands for Actual Cost of Vehicle.

How do I know that you will not overpay for cars?

We work off of MMR, JD Power, Kelly Blue Book and Black Book. Once we have captured your dealership economic formula, which should include your front-end pack (Retail Dealer) and Recon. If you are a BHPH dealer without Front-end pack, we can factor for mark-up. We, then back out all of the import and program fees to determine your Max Bid.

What about book adjustments?

There can be a book adjustment after 30 to 60 days to delivery. You experience the same in the U.S. depending on how long it takes you to get the car to the front line. It can happen, but we can also factor a 60-day depreciation into your buy economics.

We also ensure prior to purchase that a vehicle is eligible to be imported and odometer converted per NHTSA regulations at year, make and model level. We gotcha covered.
